バークシャー系列のMidAmerican Energyが中国の自動車メーカーに投資した。
香港AP通信によると、バークシャーが株主のMidAmerican Energy Holdings は、中国の自動車メーカー BYD社に投資するとのこと。
BYD社の月曜の声明によると、MidAmerican Energy社は、新規に発行される2千2百50万のH？株を、一株あたり8香港ドル（1.03米ドル）で、総額2億3,100万ドルで購入するとのことである。
詳細は広報担当がいうには、詳細は調整役の到着の後で決まるが、MidAmerican Energy社は、BYD社の登録済み？株式総数の９．８９％の株式を保有することになる。
詳細の一部によると、MidAmerican Energy社は社外取締役として、David Sokol氏をBYD社の社長に任命するとのことだ。
BYD社は上海に拠点を置く企業で、再受電可能バッテリー（２次電池）を製造している。

Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary MidAmerican Energy invests in Chinese car maker
HONG KONG (AP) -- MidAmerican Energy Holdings Co., a unit of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc., will invest in Chinese car maker BYD Co.
MidAmerican Energy will buy 225,000,000 new H shares issued by Hong Kong-listed BYD at HK$8.00 ($1.03) per share, or $231.8 million, BYD said in a statement Monday.
When the deal is completed after the approval of regulators, MidAmerican Energy will own about 9.89 percent of BYD's total registered capital, the statement said.
As part of the deal, MidAmerican Energy will name Chairman David Sokol as a non-executive director for BYD.
BYD, based in the southern Chinese city Shenzhen, also makes rechargeable batteries.
